Crafting the Future
Squarespace Web Build
The Client
Crafting the Future, a non-profit co-founded by multifaceted artists Corey Pemberton and Annie Evelyn, was built out of a frustration with lack of BIPOC representation in the art world. CTF works to diversify the fields of art, craft and design by connecting BIPOC artists with opportunities that will help them thrive. I worked with them to build a website that accurately reflected the essence of their mission and promote their artists’ work.
The Work
I utilized a website design approach that incorporated ethnic fabrics such as Kente and Cambaya cloth to inform the website's color palette, resulting in a visually stunning and culturally rich platform. Reflecting on CTF’s established logo, I suggested color combinations that would create a sense of brand continuity between the website and all of their marketing materials.
One of the biggest parts of this project was to build out The Network, a directory that shares all of their artists’ work and contact info. Additionally, I developed a customized monthly email newsletter template for Squarespace email marketing to ensure that their subscribers received visually consistent and engaging communications.
The result of these efforts was a fully integrated digital platform that authentically represented the spirit and contributions of BIPOC artists. By weaving cultural elements into the design, the website became a space that celebrated diversity and inclusivity while highlighting the artistic excellence of CTF's community.
