The Client

Dr. Erika Simpson is a board certified Ob/Gyn and sex educator, determined to educate and empower Black women to take control of their sexual health. She needed help building a strong digital brand presence and creating more thought-provoking and insightful content for her audience. She was also looking to take her website to the next level by sharing original blogs and promoting her professional services. The ultimate goal was to help Dr. Simpson stand out and establish herself as a thought leader in the sexual health industry.

The Work

Dr. Simpson's initial Instagram strategy consisted of simply re-sharing other posts, which wasn't effectively communicating her unique perspective and expertise. I worked with Dr. Simpson to establish a defined aesthetic and design a memorable logo that would represent her brand. We also emphasized Dr. Simpson's status as a Black Ob/Gyn, a rarity in her field, and positioned her as the face of her brand.

In addition to creating original content in the form of health infographics and educational reels, we established partnerships with Pleasurist on a series of sexual health videos, and Health In Her Hue to host live community chats centering the health of Black women. Dr. Simpson is also co-host on This Is Sex Podcast with two colleagues, providing additional opportunities for her to showcase her expertise and connect with her audience.

After a year of growing Dr. Simpson’s Instagram following, we decided to transform her website into an informational hub for her audience. Using Squarespace, I redesigned the website with a clean and modern look that showcases Dr. Simpson's expertise and promotes her services. The website now features informative blog posts, resources for sexual health, and a section for booking appointments with Dr. Simpson. Additionally, we integrated social media links to encourage engagement and facilitate the sharing of valuable information. Overall, the revamped website serves as a comprehensive platform that supports Dr. Simpson's mission to educate and empower Black women about their sexual health.
